SSI Shares Grain Handling, Design & Inspection Best Practices at GEAPS

Looking for affordable solutions to the industry’s biggest grain handling, engineering design, and silo inspection challenges? SSI Consulting works as a true partner, bringing more than 100 collective years of experience to your projects.

SSI’s Principal, Gerry Lynskey, P.E., shared best practices to a group of more than 80+ conference attendees at GEAPS, the biggest show in the grain industry. The session, Silo Interstice Usage and Cautions, focused on best practices and how to identify challenges that could impact or derail your project.

Interstices are star shape bins that are formed in groups of silos where four round silos meet. Interstices have been used for decades, however, based on past inspections of silo groups, many interstices were not designed properly. Gerry’s presentation focused on technical reasons to caution on the use of interstices as well as warning signs and conditions to look for at existing facilities that indicate repair is needed.

SSI understands that each of your projects is unique and works with you to develop practical real-world solutions that positively impact your company’s bottom line. With the uncertainty of today’s economy, working is one way to reduce stress as you know you have a true industry partner.
